Workshops hosted by HEKATE (Higher Education and Enterprises: Knowledge Alliances for the Training of Entrepreneurs) will be held in late 2014 and early 2015 around the topic of “What makes an enterprising scientist?” The 2-day workshops will be run in collaboration with the Manchester Enterprise Centre, large businesses and small start-up firms. The workshops will cover topics including developing careers as scientists, entrepreneurship in large organisations, starting up your own business, stakeholder management and being entrepreneurial in academia.

First of all, an online discussion forum will be open from 28 May to 12 June at  http://www.enterprisingscientists-manchester.net/

The discussion will explore topics including what the University can do to help achieve the goals of scientists interested in entrepreneurship, as well as giving researchers the chance to share their experiences and ask questions.

A live discussion will be held between June 3rd and 10th, including participants from industry.

More details on the upcoming workshops can also be found at the forum.
